  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and barriers faced by Nigerian researchers and academics in accessing and participating in Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programs, and develop tailored solutions to address these challenges.
  • Provide a fully comprehensive database for the coordination of information including Institutional Contact Points: the database of all stakeholders and institutions involved in the Nigerian R&I system.
  • Develop a dedicated web platform: development of a web platform for the Nigerian National Contact Point (NCP) network for Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programmes.
  • Training for the NCPs: The provision of training to the recently nominated thematic NCPs for Horizon Europe as well as NCPs at institutional level.
  • Organisation and operation of the Nigerian NCPs network.
  • Provide workshops on writing proposals.
  • Organise Info-days and Matchmaking activities.
  • Work with EUD communication and visibility contractor to develop a targeted communication and outreach strategy.
  The Capacity Building Expert will be responsible for designing and delivering training and capacity-building activities for Nigerian researchers and academics, focusing on Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programs. He/she will develop engaging and effective training materials and address the challenges and opportunities within the Nigerian research and innovation landscape. He/she will organize the matchmaking event and he/she will identify Non-Key experts who will provide the training in other locations. This position requires strong facilitation and training delivery skills, as well as knowledge of the Nigerian research and innovation context. The expert will work closely with diverse audiences, including researchers, educators, and policymakers.   Qualifications and skills required  A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, training, or international development.  Strong facilitation and training delivery skills.  Familiarity with Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ programs.  Knowledge of the Nigerian research and innovation landscape.  At least 10 years of experience in designing and delivering training and capacity-building activities, including EU-funded programs.  Proven track record of developing and implementing successful capacity building programs for diverse audiences.  Experience in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of capacity building initiatives.  Familiarity with adult learning principles and methodologies. For the Lot 4 EU Framework Contract, Cadena is immediately looking for an expert for the following mission: “Technical Assistance to Africa CDC Accreditation and Application to the Pandemic Fund”  The objective of this technical assistance support will be to facilitate the accreditation of Africa CDC to be an implementing agency of the Pandemic Fund and to provide specific capacity building support in preparing applications for funding. The technical assistant is expected to support Africa CDC in the following areas:
  • Coordinate, lead, and support the drafting of the Africa CDC application to become an IE, ensuring compliance with Financial Intermediary Fund process and requirements.
  • Provide detailed formulation of Africa CDC's role, complementarity, and support to the objectives of the Pandemic Fund.
  • Identify and present relevant Africa CDC capabilities, procedures, and processes required for the application.
  • Identify potential supporters (optional, depending on self-submission or third party supported application).
  Qualifications and skills required:
  • Master's degree in law, international relations, economics, public policy, global health, or development studies

  • Specific professional experience: Specific experience in the following areas:
  • Preparation and financial management of World Bank financed initiatives
  • Conducing fiduciary appraisals, conducing supervision of World Bank grants and loans
  • Experience with Financial Intermediary Funds, (accreditation process, fiduciary standards, risk assessment and compliance checks, etc).
  • Ability to operate in both private, public and international cooperation environments, demonstrated by successful assignments in each category.
  • Experience working with World Bank processes and applications.
  • Familiarity with African Union legal statutes, policies, and processes.

For the Lot 4 Framework Contract (SIEA), Cadena is looking for a senior evaluator (Cat I) to implement a Mid-term evaluation Technical Vocational Education and Training by the private sector in Liberia. The senior expert evaluator in the field of development cooperation should have: • An advanced university degree in law, economics, political science, public administration, development cooperation or any relevant social science. Master’s degree in a subject relevant to technical and vocational education and training (TVET) or linked to the scope of the assignment. • At least 15 years of overall professional experience in development cooperation with specific expertise in conducting evaluations of technical assistance projects. • The evaluator must have a cumulative experience of at least 10 years in the area of evaluation, of which at least a minimum of 5 successfully completed intervention-level or strategic evaluations, mostly in but not limited to the field of development cooperation. Experience in the evaluation of interventions in the field of TVET is compulsory. Experience in the evaluation of interventions in the field of TVET linked to private sector development will be considered a strong asset. Cadena is one of a number of consultants shortlisted to ‘Support the Implementation of an Economic Inclusion Program’ under the ‘ Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods Project,’ funded by the World Bank. The selected consultant will implement and oversee among others: - Communication/PR; - Economic and social inclusion activities; - Training/capacity building; - Facilitation of community/village savings and loans groups/associations; - Cash investment grants to young entrepreneurs/start-ups (micro entreprises); - Productive services and mentoring/coaching   These services will be rendered to the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture, Arts and Social Development (MoGYSCA&SD) (the Kingdom of Lesotho) with the aim to improve human capital and the self-sufficiency of poor and vulnerable households and individuals in selected geographical areas (to approximately 10,000 targeted beneficiaries).
